I wasn’t sure I’d have it in me to host another retreat! Colorado 2021, Montana 2022 and Taos NM 2024 were such amazing times!! After growing a third baby and nursing on demand for almost two years, I had to take a step back from teaching. But this past Taos retreat was a literal dream. The sessions we shot shook us in the best way. It was way deeper than just photographing a beautiful family in a beautiful location. Taos is incredibly special place to me. Kai was conceived there and I spent half my pregnancy on the lands, and then again postpartum. If you’ve never experienced what it’s like to be on native soil where they protect the ways of life in which no longer exist in our country before, I highly suggest it. There’s a healing energy that soaks into your bones. A gift in which you leave with that imprints your heart and spirit. Our retreats are intricately well thought out to recharge your soul. Artists need to connect with nature, take in sunrises & sunsets, take a cold dip, hug a tree, have deep conversations with other artists and women. Creatives need each other, and this is a space we hold to come back to ourselves and why we do what we do. In our normal day to day lives, our why and purpose can so easily become lost. We forget our strengths, what makes us special, why we take photographs. This retreat is to restore. Restore creativity, restore health, restore that fire within you.

Shannon is adventuring outdoorsy yogi mama of 3. Her work is earthy and emotive. She has been working as a photographer for over a decade, and was a single mom for many years. Unraveled Academy expert Artist/ Educator, Looks Like Film Top Family photographer, Click Educator, and more. She'll be leading a motherhood and family session. She has a very intuitive session flow, so you’ll see first hand how she intentionally lives, prepares, approaches her work, session prep, flow, styling, branding, editing.

Meg Koning of Bones of Us

Meg is also a beautiful mama to 4 bambeenos , amazing human and an active force in her local photographer community. She is an unraveled expert artist, so talented, so humble, with a one of a kind spirit. She has found a creative outlet project called “Bones of Us” that she will be speaking on ad leading a session that you don’t want to miss. She is a great example for the artist that is called to deep, personal and intimate personal work. For an artists that hasn’t found their voice yet, she will touch on how to do so, and what that journey looked like for her.
